Andamans DGP flags off newly inducted Fire Tenders

Six newly inducted Fire Water Tenders were flagged off during a public awareness programme by Fire Service of A&N Police. Mr Dependra Pathak, Director General of Police, A&N Islands was the chief guest on the occasion.

In his address, the DGP congratulated the Fire Service for organizing an impressive awareness programme and stated that such programmes will have a positive impact on all present. He further informed that the fire vehicles and equipments available with Fire Service are of world class and Fire Service is professionally competent to meet any eventualities. He advised school students to have better understanding of language and to inculcate interactive and collective learning.

Welcoming the gathering, Smt Amrutha Guguloth gave a brief introduction about the Fire Service Unit and highlighted the achievements of the Fire Service. She informed that Fire Service is conducting Fire Safety Audit of all commercial buildings and providing training for the safety of general public and requested everyone to get their buildings audited and attend the training course on first aid and basic fire fighting measures. A Nukad Nattak was performed on the theme of Fire Safety by Police Entertainment Team followed by a hands-on live demonstration of fire extinguishers of various classes of fire.
