Mr Amit Shah to launch online PSARA application portal

Mr Amit Shah, Home Minister, Govt of India, will officially launch the online PSARA License portal, at the Ambedkar Auditorium, New Delhi on September 24, 2019. The launching of the portal will mark the end of the cumbersome, unpredictable and taxing paper based PSARA license application and renewal process.

The previous system has been a huge bane for the private security industry for a decade now and there had been considerable resentment against it. With the launch of the online portal the entire process is expected to become transparent and speedy. The idea of development of a unified portal had been first mooted by the FICCI Committee for Private Security Industry to the Ministry of Home Affairs many years ago.

Mr Amit Shah had recently met up with a series of industry leaders led by Mr. Rituraj Sinha, Chair of FICCI’s PSI committee where the problems facing the industry were discussed. The launch of the portal is the first of a series of measures that the home ministry is anticipated to take to give the industry its due. Mr. Vivek Bharadwaj, IAS, Additional Secretary (PM) in the MHA, had indicated during FICCI’s recently concluded PSI Conclave that the portal was in the offing and will be launched soon
