RK Sinha, Chairman SIS, nominated to Rajya Sabha

In a major achievement for the Private Security Industry in India, Group Chairman & Managing Director, SIS Group has been nominated to the Upper House of the Parliament (Rajya Sabha). He won the elections held at Bihar Legislative Assembly unopposed on 31st January 2014.

SECURITY TODAY, congratulates Mr Sinha for his achievement and is confident that, with him in Parliament, the various issues that have bothered the industry will get a voice inside Parliament. We also wish him a successful tenure in the upper house and a long and healthy life.

Mr. Sinha, who is much admired in the private security industry in India and beyond, is a first generation entrepreneur who started Security & Intelligence Services (India) in 1974 with two employees from a rented accommodation. The company currently has an annual turnover of over Rs 3000 crore and manpower of over 78,000 across the country! Indeed, a unique achievement!

Mr. Sinha started his career as a journalist and served as a war correspondent during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. It was with this backdrop, that the idea of giving employment opportunities to ex-servicemen was born in the form of SIS which was taken forward with his far sightedness to its current state.

Mr. Sinha is widely recognised as a pioneer and visionary of the security industry and frequently represents the industry in various government forums for legislation and regulations concerning the security industry.
