800 CCTV Cameras to be installed on fast-track mode by Nashik Smart City Corporation

In a recent development, the Nashik Smart City Development Corporation announced the launch of two integrated command and control rooms for the much-awaited CCTV project under the Smart City mission. Under the project about 800 CCTV cameras at 335 locations will be installed across the city by month end.

As per officials at the Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Limited (NMSCDCL) “All the CCTVs will be connected with the command and control room so that police can keep an eye on all illegal activities and traffic movement and curb them to enhance the safety and security of the city.

One of the command and control centers will come up at the Panchavati divisional office building of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). While the LED screens at this center will be monitored by 35 operators, 20 operators will be working at the other center set up at the headquarters of the city police commissioner. “The agency appointed for the installation of the CCTV cameras has given its implementation plan. It will start installing the cameras at the locations finalized by the civic authorities and the police,” Prakash Thavil, NMSCDCL, CEO said.
