Allied Digital commissions Rs 225-Crore Pune Safe City Project

Mumbai-based Allied Digital – a leading Master Systems Integrator and a Premium Partner of Verint Systems, collaborated with the Government of Maharashtra on next-generation video surveillance and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) capabilities to help create a safer, more secure environment of Pune Safe City Project project Lokarapan (Dedicated to Public). This will mark the beginning of a comprehensive city surveillance project covering an area of over 600 sq. km, commissioned in the country for the first time.

The Pune Safe City project, which consists of four zones, has been successfully commissioned. From its implementation, there have been several instances of successful detection of events such as theft, traffic violation, chain snatching and high profile robberies and murder cases amongst others and this project has helped in solving the crime in a short time, which has resulted in increasing the efficiency of policing.

The project covers an area of 640 sq. km with 1250+ IP Cameras at 440 junctions, a Command and Control Centre, and viewing stations at police stations in the city. The total cost of the project that includes services for 5 years is Rs. 225 crores.

The task of implementing a state-of-the-art command, and control center (C3) was successfully executed by Allied Digital using Verint Systems Situation Management Center and Video management platform. The Verint system has been integrated with GIS/ GPS, ANPR and Video Analytics system. It will also be integrated with Criminal Data base and Transport Authority Database. “Pune is a commercial and cultural hub for India and has a very large senior citizens population, social activists and intellectuals. As such, the city is a high-security risk area for potential theft and crime. To meet the demand for security cover from the citizens, the state government initiated the Safe City Project to increase awareness and security amongst the people and help ensure 24×7 surveillance,” adds Nitin Shah CMD, Allied Digital, a leading security solutions company based in India, and a Verint partner.
