CM Fadnavis wants prompt action on city’s stalled CCTV project

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis pushed for immediate implementation of the CCTV surveillance plan, to improve the city’s safety. This plan has been on paper since the 26/11 terror attacks. While directing authorities to install CCTVs in the city at the earliest, Fadnavis asked for similar projects in Pune, Nashik, Nagpur and Aurangabad. He also asked the police department to enhance security in the state. The CM directed all planning agencies involved in infrastructure projects to fast-track necessary follow-ups with authorities concerned. Although most of these projects were planned by the previous Congress-NCP regime, delay in approvals and the lack of coordination between agencies caused most to be indefinitely stalled.

He directed all departmental heads to initiate follow-ups in New Delhi, where the BJP-led government has assured all assistance from the ministry of environment and forests, shipping and ports for the city’s infrastructure projects.
