Delhi Govt. asks Home Guards to prepare road map for security on buses

The Delhi Government has asked the Director General (Home Guards) to prepare a road map for deployment of home guards or marshals in buses in order to ensure security of passengers, especially women. In its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had promised to deploy marshals in each bus to ensure security for women passengers. An official said the government has asked DG (Home Guards) to immediately prepare a plan on this issue and send it to the government. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reportedly instructed all government departments to give presentations to him this week on how they would implement AAP’s action plan.
