Haryana govt to launch fire safety mobile app

To strengthen fire safety measures in the state, the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Department will launch a fire safety app and all fire stations in 22 districts will be connected with it. Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain, while addressing a state conference on safety measures, said that Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and Chief Medical Officers of all districts would be connected with the app.

Jain said that in order to fill staff shortage in the department, about 1,000 employees have been arranged through outsourcing. Besides, the demand for recruiting 1,046 persons on regular posts had been sent to the Haryana State Staff Selection Commission.

The minister said fire engines would be equipped with GPS facility which would help in reaching the incident site. For this, the fire station at the district and block levels should be equipped with the internet facility. A nodal officer would be posted at the headquarters level who will coordinate with all fire stations in the state so that everyone could be cautioned during an emergency
