India advises Scotland on security for their Commonwealth Games

India has helped Scotland in planning for the security of the upcoming Commonwealth Games. Delhi hosted the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the next one is to take place in July at Glasgow (Scotland) this year. CEO of Glasgow 2014 David Grevemberg said that a special team of the Scotland Police had visited Delhi for a formal knowledge-sharing programme on security arrangements that need to be made for the Games. “Grevemberg was all praise for the way India hosted the Games and said it placed India as the next big “emerging country”. Recalling the learnings from Delhi 2010, Grevemberg said “It truly brought to the fore the importance social media has in the modern day. We learnt from Delhi that social media campaigns were vital for the success of the Games. We realised that the digital age had arrived and hence we have used Twitter and Facebook extensively.
