COM SUR offers its tech to defence services for free

COM-SUR – the world’s only CCTV video footage auditing, smart backup, and standardised intelligent incident reporting software, is being offered to the entire Indian Police, Paramilitary and Defense forces for free.

COM-SUR hopes to bring the much-needed standardization and efficiency to these forces, thereby reducing their burden when working with surveillance videos, photos and images.
Mr. Gautam D. Goradia elaborated that videos, photos, and images are an integral part of policing across the world. With the proliferation of surveillance videos from diverse sources such as CCTV, body worn cameras, drones/UAVs, mobile phones etc., there is a deluge of this medium of ‘ information’.

Trillions of hours surveillance video is generated on a daily basis across the world. While such humongous amount of rich visual ‘information’ will continue to grow, there is neither a standardized ‘workflow’, nor are there standardized tools being used by policing/law enforcement agencies to ensure that not only can this ‘information’ be efficiently converted into actionable intelligence; but that, it can also be stored smartly, and shared in a standardized manner.

There is a need therefore, for an easy to use and efficient tool to achieve the above objectives, as well as to ensure that all this big data is not wasted! Made in India COM-SUR is a force multiplier, a ‘workflow’ that allows users to carry out several activities with far reduced burden and standardization.

While the first deployment of COM-SUR at a Police force in India was at the Puducherry Police command centre, COM-SUR has also been recently deployed at the Telangana Police command centre, which was an initiative spearheaded by the Infosys Foundation. Several top ranking Police officials across India have appreciated COM-SUR.

In its 6.5-year development and improvement journey, COM-SUR has won several awards, the recent one being the Made in India Software Product of the Year 2020 from the Fire and Security Association of India.
