Gunnebo wins major U.A.E contract

The Gunnebo Group has received an order worth MSEK 20 (approx 2.2M Euros) to supply entrance security solutions to a nuclear power plant being built by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Delivery and installation is planned for the second and third quarters of 2016.

To meet increasing energy demands, the UAE government took the decision in 2008 to build its first nuclear power plant. Construction started in 2012 and the site is expected to go into production in 2017.

As one of the leading providers of entrance security to high-risk sites in the Middle East region, Gunnebo has been selected by Atlas Security to supply exterior and interior entrance control solutions for the plant. Atlas Security is ENEC’s security partner for the power plant project. “Energy demand in the UAE is growing faster than the global average,” says Anas Kutit, Senior Projects Manager at Atlas Security. “Developing a reliable supply of electricity is critical to the future growth of the nation. However, it is also important to secure the site. So we turned to Gunnebo, a company with a proven record of excellent entrance security installations at many high-risk sites in the region.”
