IFSEC & FIREX International set to return in July

The security and fire safety’s leading industry exhibitions are set to return in July. IFSEC International and FIREX International are gearing up to welcome back visitors and exhibitors to London’s ExCeL, from 12-14 July 2021. Informa Markets Group Director, Mr. Chris Edwards, explains some of the work going on behind the scenes to make this happen.

IFSEC and FIREX International are scheduled to take place from 12–14 July 2021 at ExCeL, London, as an in-person event run in line with the industry recognised and Government approved AllSecure standard, designed to ensure the safety of all attendees and exhibitors.
Piloted in September 2020, Informa AllSecure was approved by the UK Government on the 19th of November 2020 as a model for running large events safely. It involves several health and safety measures, including contactless entry, deep cleaning, social distancing onsite, staggered arrival times and PPE, including face masks.

In the fourth step of the Government’s four-step roadmap to ease the UK out of lockdown, mass gatherings such as trade shows, music events and sports events have been given permission to recommence, from June 21, subject to the other three steps being passed along the way.

Mr. Edwards said “Now that we have details of the Government’s plans, we’re getting ready for IFSEC, FIREX and their associated events to take place in July. We do believe that all events taking place in 2021, and possibly beyond, are going to need to have enhanced health & safety measures. That’s why Informa, and other leading events organisations, created AllSecure, a set of industry leading standards that raise the bar in creating, safe, hygienic and high-quality event experiences.”

Mr Edwards added that there is a hunger from the sector to return to in-person events: “We’re all pining for an opportunity to do business face-to-face, we really want to give people their first opportunity to come back together as communities in these sectors that we serve in July.” IFSEC and FIREX International are co-located with the Safety & Health Expo, Workplace Wellbeing Show, Intelligent Building Europe and Facilities Show.
