Sachin Sharma Moves from Uber to IBM

Capt. Sachin Sharma (Retd.) has transitioned from Uber to IBM, marking a new chapter in his professional journey within the global technology ecosystem.
Sachin previously worked with Uber, where he was part of the company’s operations and technology environment, contributing to initiatives that supported the platform’s large-scale digital infrastructure and fast-paced product ecosystem. His experience at the ride-hailing major exposed him to high-growth technology environments and data-driven product development.
Notably, while at Uber, he built and led a 46‑person mega‑regional security, crisis, and investigations team operating across 51 countries and played an essential role in scaling programs that protected the platform, its earners, and its customers.
Across his 24‑year career, Sachin has delivered security as an enabler for the business. His leadership spans General Motors, Tata Communications, Wipro, Vodafone, Hindustan Aeronautics, and military service as a Captain in the Indian Army. He has designed data‑driven risk programs, built 24×7 security operations, led global investigations, strengthened law‑enforcement partnerships, and supported organizations through geopolitical disruptions.
He has now joined IBM, where he will contribute to the company’s expanding focus on enterprise technology, hybrid cloud, and artificial intelligence-driven innovation. IBM has been intensifying its strategic focus on enterprise AI and hybrid cloud platforms as it positions itself for the next phase of digital transformation.
Mike Brennan, Interim Chief Security Officer & Vice President, Corporate Security, IBM says, “Sachin brings broad global experience across technology, telecom, automotive, and aerospace. He will work closely with our global security teams, IBM leadership, and our clients to advance our mission: Powering IBM’s future through business‑aligned security.”

“I look forward to partnering across such an iconic company as IBM with a footprint of aproximately 300,000 people across 170+ countries to strengthen resilience, deliver intelligence-led security operations, and ensure our capabilities directly support IBM’s business goals and the success of IBMers and clients.” says Capt.
