Goa Police publishes PSARA-approved security agencies list amid CM’s warning

The Goa Police has released a list of 165 private security agencies authorised to operate in the State under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 (PSARA), urging citizens, establishments, and job seekers to verify the credentials of agencies before hiring them or seeking employment.

The move comes just hours after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, in his Independence Day address, announced strict action against unlicensed security agencies to prevent law-and-order problems, curb gang-related violence, and ensure safety in Goa’s villages and towns.

All security agencies not registered with the Home Department will be shut down,” the CM warned, stressing that only PSARA-licensed agencies are legally permitted to operate in the State.

In its press note, the Goa Police advised the public to ensure that the agency they engage with has a valid registration under PSARA, warning that operating without a licence is an offence and will invite immediate legal action against both the agency and those availing its services. The complete list of 165 licensed private security agencies, along with their registration details, has been made available by the Goa Police.
