The Security Solutions business of Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has secured mandates from GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited (GVIAL) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to deploy integrated security solutions at Bhogapuram International Airport, a greenfield aviation project. The mandate is valued at approximately ₹6 crore.
The mandate covers perimeter protection, vehicle screening, access management and threat detection across the airport. Godrej will deploy Blocking Bollards, Boom Barriers, Under Vehicle Scanning Systems (UVSS), Turnstiles, Swing Lane Barriers, Explosive Vapour Detectors (EVD), Liquid Explosive Detectors (LED), Non-Linear Junction Detectors (NLJD), Bomb Disposal Suits and Real-Time Viewing Systems (RTVS).
GEG received mandates from both GVIAL, the airport operator, and L&T, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor, for the project. The company said this reflected its engagement with stakeholders across the infrastructure value chain, including airport developers, EPC partners, consultants, security agencies and project management teams. GEG said the dual mandate showed its ability to work with both the airport operator and the EPC contractor on the same infrastructure project.
Pushkar Gokhale, business head of the Security Solutions business of Godrej Enterprises Group, said that airports required integrated security ecosystems combining physical protection, advanced threat detection and real-time situational awareness.
He said that securing the mandate from GMR and L&T for Bhogapuram International Airport was an endorsement of the company’s technology capabilities and execution. He said that the company remained committed to delivering security solutions that would support India’s aviation infrastructure growth and regional connectivity, as the country’s aviation sector continued to expand.
The mandate followed collaboration with airport authorities, consultants, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), project management teams and end users through the course of the project lifecycle, from planning to execution.
The Security Solutions business of GEG has previously delivered security solutions for airports including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Kannur International Airport, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Cochin International Airport. The Bhogapuram mandate adds to this list of airport security projects undertaken by the company.
