BIS to hold Webinar on Video Surveillance System Standards on March 25

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is hosting a webinar on Video Surveillance Systems Standards on March 25, 2022 from 11 AM to 12.30 PM. The webinar will shed light on the important aspect of video surveillance by delving on issues like BIS standards on video surveillance systems and BIS certification process. The webinar will include industry perspective on the subject.

The main objective of the webinar is to spread awareness on product standards on Video Surveillance Systems. The webinar will not only talk about the content of these standards but also disseminate valuable information on BIS certification process for implementation of Indian Standards. Through this webinar, it is envisaged to bring the manufacturers of Video Surveillance Systems and BIS to a common platform for discussion on Indian Standards as well as its implementation related issues.

Ms. Reena Garg, Scientist – F & Head Electronics and Information Technology Department, BIS will kick off the proceedings by giving a welcome address and explaining the objectives of the webinar.

She will be followed by Ms. Alismita Khag, Scientist C & Member Secretary, Alarms and Electronic Security Systems Sectional Committee, LITD 26, BIS who will present an overview of standards related to video surveillance for security applications.

Mr. M Uma Prasad Chief Engineer, NPCIL, will then give an overview of standards on camera devices used in the surveillance systems.

Mr. Rajan Luthra Head (Special Projects), Reliance Industries Limited, who has been actively involved on the subject, will then present his overview of standards on application guidelines of video surveillance systems.

The elaborate process of BIS certification process will subsequently be explained by Mr.  Peeyush Prakash, Scientist C Central Marks Department III, BIS.

With the subject of standards on video surveillance now a hotly debated one, a large number of attendees are expected to join the webinar and learn about the prevalent standards. Those who wish to participate can do so by joining the link given under.
