Delta Electronics India has started manufacturing smart surveillance cameras from its security brand VIVOTEK at its Krishnagiri facility in Tamil Nadu. The move supports the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and aims to strengthen domestic electronics supply chains. It will also help accelerate the deployment of smart security infrastructure across the country.
Delta Electronics first acquired a 55% controlling stake in Taiwan-based video surveillance provider VIVOTEK Inc. in August 2017, strengthening its building automation and security solutions portfolio. In 2026, the two companies agreed to a cash-for-share transaction for Delta to acquire the remaining shares, marking the transition of VIVOTEK into a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Electronics and further integrating its video surveillance expertise into Delta’s broader technology ecosystem.
Delta Electronics Inc, founded in 1971 and listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, is a global leader in power and thermal management with a thriving portfolio of IoT-based smart energy-saving solutions in the fields of data center infrastructure, microgrids, smart manufacturing, intelligent buildings, and E-mobility to nurture mankind’s sustainable development.
Hong Wu, General Manager of Delta’s Building Automation Business Group, said, “Smart security is an essential pillar in Delta’s intelligent solutions roadmap. By integrating VIVOTEK’s advanced AI analytics and robust cybersecurity with Delta’s manufacturing scale in Krishnagiri, we deliver shorter lead times and agile technical support for India’s critical infrastructure, transportation hubs, and commercial sectors.”
Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, said, “Local production reflects our deep commitment to India’s industrial ecosystem. Leveraging our world-class facility ensures stringent quality control and cost efficiency, while fostering domestic talent and local suppliers’ capabilities.”
Delta will initially manufacture cameras from VIVOTEK’s commercial series. These products will comply with India’s mandatory BIS ER-01 standards, supporting domestic procurement requirements. Manufacturing cameras locally will also reduce spare-parts turnaround times. This will help system integrators access replacement components faster and improve their ability to meet project deadlines. The initiative could also strengthen system integrators’ competitiveness in government and public-sector tenders, where domestic procurement requirements play an important role.
Delta and VIVOTEK plan to broaden local production by gradually introducing mid-to-high-end surveillance cameras with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. The expanded portfolio will target specialised applications, including smart cities and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). VIVOTEK will also increase partner training programmes across India to strengthen technical expertise and support wider adoption.
Meanwhile, Delta plans to expand manufacturing capacity at its Krishnagiri plant to meet growing demand for security infrastructure. The investment will support VIVOTEK’s wider product offering and help the companies serve India’s evolving surveillance market.
Delta Electronics India operates across power electronics, automation and infrastructure. Its portfolio includes industrial automation, renewable energy, data centre solutions, electric vehicle charging, rail transportation and energy storage systems.
The company maintains 14 regional offices, manufacturing facilities in Rudrapur, Gurgaon and Krishnagiri, and research and development centres in Gurgaon and Bengaluru. Its network also includes more than 200 channel partners. Delta holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications covering quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety. Local VIVOTEK camera production adds another capability to Delta’s Indian manufacturing operations, supporting domestic sourcing and the growing demand for advanced surveillance technologies.
