Israel’s largest diamond exchange secured by biometrics

The Israel Diamond Exchange in Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, has decided to implement “cutting edge” biometric access security developed by local firm FST Biometrics.  The technology being deployed uses a combination of facial recognition and body behavior biometric analytics technologies to identify people entering the IDE.

“We are delighted to have been selected by the Israel Diamond Exchange to service the secure access needs of its new state-of-the-art facility,” said Arie Melamed Yekel, CMO of FST Biometrics. “FST’s IMID Access is perfectly suited to provide the polishing house with critical security, without impeding the speed of operations.”

The centre’s polishing house employs hundreds, yet processes millions of dollars worth of diamonds each day, so it needed a fast access speed with strong security, the company said in a statement. FST was only selected after completing a rigorous trial period. “A trading center for a high volume of diamonds, the Israel Diamond Exchange, demands the highest level of security without slowing down operations,” said Israel Vantosovski, Director of Security for the Israel Diamond Exchange. “Having experienced the technology in action, we are confident that FST Biometrics’ IMID Access is the most secure and effective solution available.”
