No PUC without HSRP in Kanpur

High security Registration plate (HSRP) will be mandatory for vehicle owners in Kanpur to get Pollution Under Control certificates from April 15.

The Transport department has implemented a new technical system for this purpose on the PUCC portal. ARTO (Administration) Alok Kumar Singh on Thursday stated that, in accordance with the directives of the govt, the affixing of High Security Registration Plates on all vehicles was made mandatory.

In this regard, technical modifications had been implemented in the PUCC portal through the National Informatics Centre. Under this initiative, starting April 15, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates will not be issued for vehicles that do not have an HSRP. He appealed to vehicle owners to get High Security Registration Plates installed on their vehicles as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience in future.

The RTO administration clarified that vehicle manufacturers for whom High Security Registration Plates are currently unavailable for certain models have been temporarily exempted from this requirement.
