Raxa Academy inaugurates Corporate Security Management Program

Raxa Academy had organized an Inauguration for the pioneer Corporate Security Management Program first batch recently. This prestigious course was earlier virtually launched by NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant in presence of Mr GBS Raju, MD Airports GMR Group, Mr BVN Rao Chairman Transportation and Urban Infrastructure GMR Group and Dr Ashwani Lohani, CEO GMR Services Business.

The Chief Guest for the inauguration was Maj Paul Devassy, CPP, Regional Vice President South Asia of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). He addressed the gathering and congratulated the candidates on being selected for this valued program. He further asked them to effectively utilize this time to learn and become outstanding security professionals for which there is a great demand in the industry.

CEO Raxa Security Services Mr GUG Sastry, IPS(Retd), Col Harjinder Singh (Retd) Head Training Raxa and Col Vishal Mathur Head Consultancy and Course Head were present during the function. The program concluded with the Chief Guest presenting the welcome kits to all the students.

Before the commencement of the inaugural function, there was demonstration on some physical skills learnt by the security guards trainees undergoing their basic security training at the Academy. The events included Unarmed combat, Yoga, Firefighting and Emergency response as well as Aerobic exercises.

Corporate Security Management Program is a unique six months residential course for graduates started at the Raxa Academy to train them to be the cutting edge security executives in various industries and business organisations. This course is the first of its kind in India and is designed to provide intensive training in not only security and asset protection but also in soft skills, leadership and team building through adventure activities to meet the large demand in the security industry.

All the candidates including two lady candidates will be trained on modules based on the POA( ASIS Protection of Assets manual) which is recognized as the “Gold Standard” for security professionals worldwide. Due to the overwhelming response received for the course, Raxa plans to start the next batch from 01st Mar 2022 and admissions will be based on a stringent selection criteria centered on an online written examination followed by an interview process for successful candidates.

The course will be conducted in Raxa Academy which was established in 2007 as a premier security training institution to train security staff for the GMR group. The Academy has since grown manifold to impart training on various courses to middle and senior level security executives to external and internal clients. It is appointed as Industry cum Implementation Partner with MEPSC and has been accorded the status of a Centre of Excellence under MEPSC.

RAXA Academy has recently been transformed as a “Centre for Higher Learning in Security” and several short duration fully residential thematic courses are being conducted at the Academy on a regular basis for senior professionals in the field of Security.
