Tenon group pays respects to the IPKF Martyrs in Colombo

Tenon Group, a 28-year-old Indian private and security facility management company, paid their respects to the IPKF (Indian Peace Keeping Force) Martyrs during the strategic visit to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Tenon Group during their offsite trip to Colombo, Sri Lanka visited the Indian war memorial to honour the sacrifices made by Indian peacekeepers stationed in Sri Lanka during the 1987-1900 Peacekeeping Mission. The Indian martyrs were members of the Indo-Sri Lankan Accord, who sought to end the civil war between the Sri Lankan military and terrorist groups.

Signed on July 29, 1987 between the erstwhile Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sri Lankan President J.R. Jayewardene, the Indian Martyrs who were part of that fierce combat engagement quickly became entangled in a mission – Op Pawan, to liberate the strongholds of the Jaffna Peninsula from the terrorist organisation.

Among the prominent leaders who honoured the IPKF martyrs were Brig Rajan Oberoi, Brig. Tarundeep Kumar, and, Brig. Mayank Awasthi, & was supported by Brig. Sunil Kumar N.V. & Angad Rajain, Global Chief Strategy Officer of Tenon Facility Management India Pvt Ltd.

Speaking about the sacrifices of the IPKF, Brig Rajan Oberoi, Global Vice Chairman,Tenon Group, said “We observe this day to honour the sacrifices made by the Indian martyrs for maintaining peace during the liberation.
