Nitin Gadkari salutes security guards for selfless duty amid Covid-19 crisis

As the entire world gives thanks to medical workers for their selfless service in saving us all, Nitin Gadkari asked Indians to thank another ‘corona warrior’ — our security guards.
Taking to Twitter on the occasion of World Health Day, Nitin Gadkari said, “Deepest gratitude to the security guards working on the frontlines and keeping our apartments, colonies, offices, public properties and people safe.”

“I salute and thank them for their selfless commitment to the nation,” he added.
The Union Minister also used the hashtag ‘Clap For Our Carers’ to express his gratitude.
With the entire country under lockdown, security guards have been performing double duty — protecting us not only from intruders but also from coronavirus.

Standing outside homes, offices and public places all through the day, security personnel ensure the spread of coronavirus is contained. Many have been tasked with taking the temperatures of outsiders, providing sanitisers to those entering/exiting a place and making sure people follow social distancing.

Meanwhile, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the World Health Day is an opportunity to reaffirm our gratitude towards all doctors, nurses, medical staff and healthcare workers leading the battle against Covid-19.

“Today on #WorldHealthDay, let us not only pray for each other’s good health and well-being but also reaffirm our gratitude towards all those doctors, nurses, medical staff and healthcare workers who are bravely leading the battle against the Covid-19 menace,” the prime minister tweeted.
