STKS2024: A Roaring Success!

The SECURITY TODAY Knowledge Summit 2024 at the Grand Hyatt, Gurugram brought together industry stalwarts sharing invaluable insights on critical security risk and resilience topics. Gurbir (GB) Singh, Editor-in-Chief of SECURITY TODAY opened the Summit with inspiring anecdotes about the magazine’s 20-year journey, highlighting its role as a leading publication and ranked by Google Search amongst the three “Best Security Magazine in the World”.
Mr. Rajan Luthra the Chair- STKS Steering Committee gave the audience a throwback and spoke of the significance of the topic- ‘Disinformation Campaigns’ that was first discussed at STKS2023 which later was ranked as the #1 risk in The Global Risks Report 2024 by the World Economic Forum. He then discussed the futuristic trends for 2025. The panelists included Dr. (Prof.) Vikram Singh,IPS (Retd.), Former Director General of UP Police & Chancellor, Noida International University, Mr. Pankaj Seith, Former VP- Insights, HT Media Group (Digital & Print) and Mr. Kanishk Gaur, Chief Executive Officer, Athenian Tech Limited.
Lt. Gen. Arun K Sahni’s keynote on ‘Global Conflicts and their Impact on Enterprise Risk & Resilience’ was thought-provoking, especially his reflections on Ukraine’s resilient stance against Russia in the first year of the conflict.
Mr. Rajan Luthra moderated the session on ‘Joint Ops Centres: From Silos to Synergy: A Unified and Joint Approach to Risk Management’ and brought out the advantages of a collaborative approach to managing risks and response mechanisms. Valuable insights from Arpit Rajain, Brig. Satish Penghal, and Lt. Col. Elmalem, Deputy Defence Attache, Embassy of Israel on the benefits of this approach were shared with the audience. A perspective on Uttar Pradesh’s impressive transformation in law enforcement was discussed, acknowledging the accessibility of police found a mention which complimented the speaker in the next panel, the illustrious Prof. Dr. Vikram Singh, former DGP UP, who was instrumental in progressive policing.
Mr. GB Singh moderated the panel – Phygital Readiness: Developing Multi-Skilled Security Teams and Analysts. Capt. Sanjay Sharma, Col. Mahendra Singh and Siddharth Jha’ shared valuable perspectives on developing versatile, cross functional and multi-skilled security teams.
The session on “From Compliance to Resilience” offered impactful perspectives from Anuj Arora and Capt. Sanjay Sharma, while Dr. Sumit Pahwa’s observation, “If you think compliance is expensive, try non-compliance,” was both witty & realistic.
Dr. Firoze Zia Hussain, led the panel Supply Chain 4.0: Addressing New Security Threat Vectors in a Connected World, with Chandramani Kumar Vatas, Megha Bansal, Col. (Retd.) Ravi Madhok and Ankit Sabharwal. They discussed enterprise supply chains evolving rapidly and becoming increasingly complex due to greater interconnectivity. Trends such as quick commerce, logistic drones and multimodal logistics parks are transforming the first-mile, mid-mile and last-mile delivery of goods. However, these advancements also introduce new risks and vulnerabilities.
Mr. Anand Mecheri in his keynote gave an overview of Risk Planning and Threat Modelling with Digital Twins. A highlight was the dynamic fireside chat between Garry Singh & Gaurav Singh, PhD on digital twins, which brought fresh insights and generated lively debate.

Prof. Triveni Singh’s keynote on #Cybercrime kept everyone engaged post-lunch, with real-life stories of thwarting and apprehending cybercriminals. Dr. Nitin N., joining remotely, seamlessly incorporated other speakers’ points during his fireside chat with Mr. Rajan Luthra on Global Resilience Perspectives, while the vivacious Aman Singh’s vote of thanks perfectly concluded a day of rich insights. Already, the attendees are looking forward to SECURITY TODAY Knowledge Summit 2025, set to mark the grand 20th edition of this event.
