In his new role, Gopal will play a critical strategic and operational role in strengthening Vedanta’s security governance, risk mitigation frameworks, business continuity, and intelligence-led decision-making across all business verticals. He will report directly to Deshnee Naidoo, Group CEO, and work in close coordination with business CEOs to enhance the effectiveness of the group’s security and intelligence capabilities.
Gopal will lead proactive risk management initiatives and strategic planning to protect the company’s people, assets, and reputation. He will also integrate human rights considerations into Vedanta’s sustainability and community engagement programmes, aligning with global best practices.
A law graduate with a distinguished service of over 19 years in the Indian Army and Police Services, Gopal brings more than 35 years of rich and diverse experience. Since entering the corporate sector in 2009, he has held leadership roles across security and governance domains. He also serves on the Governing Body of Rashtriya Raksha University, a Central University of National Importance that advances strategic and security education in emerging domains.
